
William Oh Recognized by ITW Patent Society
for AEGISĀ® Technology Patent
On May 14, 2012, William Oh was recognized by the ITW Patent Society with a
Special Award. The Special Award is granted to any ITW employee whose name
is listed on a patent that generates an exceptional level of commercial and
technical successes for the company. William Oh received the special award
during the meeting in celebration of ITW's 100th anniversary.
Mr. Oh was recognized for contribution to Patent Number 7,136,271 entitled
"Static Charge Neutralizing Assembly for use on Rollers and Shafts." The
patent, which discusses the concept of Electron Transport Technology,
electron tunneling, and specially formulated microfiber™ brushes, provides
the technical foundation on which the design of the AEGISĀ® Shaft Grounding
Ring is based. A member of the ITW Patent Society since 2005, Mr. Oh is
currently holding 13 US patents, and is now a member of the Distinguished
Fellows within the Society whose patents have proven to be commercial
successes as well as technical ones.

Founded in 1969 to recognize the patent contributions of ITW personnel
worldwide, the ITW Patent Society currently has over 1200 members, including
hundreds of engineers, technicians, salespeople, and other innovative
thinkers. Since 1969, 234 members are Distinguished Fellows, recognized for
their patents on commercially successful products, and 21 individuals are
members of the Hall of Fame in recognition of their lifetime achievements
during the last 100 years.
