Baldor Expands Offering of Super-E^® Motors with AEGIS^®

Baldor Electric Company, a Fort Smith, Arkansas-based manufacturer of energy-saving, industrial electric motors, drives, mechanical power transmission products and generators, has added 98 new ratings to the popular Baldor•Reliance® Super-E Motors with Internal AEGIS® Bearing Protection Ring. Originally launched in 2010, this product line provides end-users with off-the-shelf availability of motors equipped with a pre-installed shaft ground.

The additional 98 ratings expands the existing 4 pole line of TEFC & ODP designs through 100 HP, and also adds a generous offering of 2 and 6 pole models as well. Additionally, 575V TEFC motors were added, 1 to 50 HP, as well as TEFC & ODP close-coupled pump motors.

While most shaft ground applications utilize a shaft ground on the outside of the motor, the Baldor•Reliance Super-E has the grounding ring factory installed internally on the motor. This internal design minimizes exposure to the outside elements and also keeps the grounding ring from being damaged by external forces.

Applications include heating, ventilation and air conditioning blower and fan motors, pump motors, and other general purpose applications using an adjustable speed drive.

Baldor Super-E^® Motors

At the 2010 EASA Convention, Baldor introduced a new Super-E® HVAC Motor with AEGIS^® Shaft Grounding Ring installed inside. This new TEFC and ODP motor, ideally suited for inverter driven applications in heating, ventilation and air coinditioning systems, was displayed in the Baldor booth.  Among its many features and benefits are NEMA Premium® efficiency, class H insulation with spark resistent magnet wire, 1.15 service factor, heavy duty construction and AEGIS^® SGR to protect bearings from damage caused by drive-induced currents. Baldor Electric Company announces the availability of a bearing protection ring as an option on their BaldorReliance motors. The shaft grounding device may be incorporated as a custom motor option or installed in Baldor's Mod Express shop at customer request.
